Press Release - New Kingkraft Living Centre
Kingkraft Living Centre is an unusual Silver Jubilee Celebration
When Nigel Harrison came to consider how to mark the 25th anniversary of his Sheffield based company Kingkraft Ltd, he came up with an unusual idea which would be of lasting benefit to the groups of people the company supports.
Kingkraft is a manufacturer and distributor of baths and other specialist products for people with limited mobility, who are supported by their carers and by healthcare professionals such as occupational therapists. Nigel’s innovative idea was the creation of a “Living Centre” for all of these Kingkraft client groups where they can meet together free of charge for networking, informal meetings and training and advice sessions, either
as a group or one to one basis.
Nigel explains, “We recently invested in a new building on the Kingkraft site where we are able to provide a big space with a good meeting and presentation area, and also a demonstration area where clients can experiment and practice in a “hands on” manner with different bathroom equipment and other support items for aiding children and adults
with mobility difficulties. Importantly however, the building has good disabled access and disabled toilet facilities. We are very clear that nobody using the facility will be approached by sales staff as they use the facilities. The benefits for Kingkraft lie simply in the fact that visitors become more aware of Kingkraft and its products through the Living Centre and that regular contact with visitors will allow the our team to maintain their awareness of user needs and therapist opinion.” With the Kingkraft facilities being situated close to the M1 and on the edge of the Sheffield road network there is a wide area they could potentially serve.
“Nigel says, rather than the normal “bunfights” or advertising splashes we wanted to celebrate our Silver Jubilee in a way which will have an enduring benefit for those we serve in our business. I believe that the Kingkraft Living Centre will provide a lasting legacy for those who come to use it.” The Kingkraft facility can be booked free of charge by groups working with those suffering from mobility difficulties from 1st July 2009. Individuals wishing to see the facilities with a view to using them will also be very welcome. The facilities will be available from 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
